So I know this is super late, but better late than never, right? First I want to start with the rundown of how this series has affected me. In Promise Me Darkness and Promise Me Light, I fell in love with Ryder and Maddie and the extremes of their highly complicated relationship, in the post apocalyptic world. Now we have Cash and Cat, this book is very unlike the first in which I still refer to as a cross of Fifty Shades and The Hunger Games. Where Darkness and Light left you raw and aching at time, this book leaves you furious and chaffed, and not in a good way. But the main reason this review is so late is more because I really needed to digest and think super hard on how I felt about Cash and Cat. I really want to hate them both, but the more I read and reread I found that I had too many feelings to process. Where Ryder and Maddie were complicated, Cash and Cat were simple and I think that is why it took the time to really understand how I felt. Being simple in a lot of ways can be harder to understand than complicated. But I found that I loved Cash for is compass, loved him for his weaknesses too. Then you have Cat, the stuck up bitch who feels untitled to things that are not her's. But when everything changes she realizes she need to be more, and she was. Not all love stories are hearts and flowers, most it is about the fight and how much stronger they are in the end. Once again Paige you made a stunning book with characters to match. 5 Stars, girlie! I loved every page and hope everyone else did too. Thank you to Paige for giving me the challenge in this book. Now to wait for Promise me Forever. Stunning, Paige, absolutely stunning.
